Direct And Indirect Object Worksheet For Class 7

Some verbs are followed by two objects – a direct object and an indirect object.

The direct object is usually a thing whereas the indirect object is usually a person.

Example:

  • Mother bought me a nice necklace. (Indirect object – me; direct object – a necklace)

Note that the indirect object usually goes before the direct object. If it goes after the direct object, it is preceded by the preposition for or to.

  • My mother bought a nice necklace for me.
