Here are some words and phrases you can use to express your opinion.

Use I think… to express your opinion of someone or something.

• I think he is right.
• I think it is a fox.
• I think it is wrong to criticize people.
• I think it is too late to start now.
• I think we are making a mistake.

If you do not think something is true, use I don’t think….

• I don’t think that we are doing the right thing.
• I don’t think that Ravi is coming.
• I don’t think that we should wait for them.
• I don’t think that we can depend on him.
• I don’t think that she is telling the truth.

To ask other people’s opinion, use What do you think of….?

• What do you think of my new hairstyle?
• What do you think of him?
• What do you think of the latest Nescafe commercial?
• What do you think of her new car?

We can also use What do you think about…?

• What do you think about buying a new TV?
• What do you think about inviting Mira?
• What do you think about going for a drive?

To say that you agree with someone’s opinion, use I agree or You’re right.

• ‘That is a nice movie.’ ‘I agree. I watched it yesterday.’
• I completely agree with your opinion.

To say that you do not agree with someone, use I don’t think so.

• ‘Janet is a nice girl.’ ‘I don’t think so. She doesn’t even talk to me.’
• ‘It is a nice restaurant.’ ‘I don’t think so.’
• ‘They are going to win.’ ‘I don’t think so.’
