Few, A Few, Little, A Little | Grammar Exercise For Classes 8 and 9 CBSE

The determiners few and little are often confused. Use few with countable nouns; use little with uncountable nouns.

Few and little have a negative meaning. For example, ‘few children’ means ‘hardly any children’. Likewise, ‘little time’ means ‘hardly any time’. Use ‘a few’ to refer to a small number. Likewise, use ‘a little’ to refer to a small amount.
