Emphatic pronoun

Reflexive pronouns (myself, yourself, themselves, himself etc.) are often used to emphasise a noun or pronoun. They are then called emphatic pronouns.

  • I will do it myself.
  • He himself said so.
  • They themselves admitted their guilt.
