Simple present tense worksheet

Complete the following sentences using appropriate time and frequency adverbs. Click here for a printer-friendly version of this worksheet

The simple present tense is commonly used with time and frequency adverbs which show when and how often somebody does something.

1. Do you often have meetings on -------------------------? (Sunday / Sundays)

2. John ---------------------- (rare / rarely) gets up early in the morning.

3. His train arrives ------------------------- (in / at) 11.30.

4. We go to the park ------------------------- (every evening / in every evening)

5. I start my new job -------------------------- (tomorrow / on tomorrow)

6. I go to the mountains -------------------------- (every year / in every year)

7. I ------------------------ (occasion / occasionally) go to the mountains.

8. We donít allow smoking ----------------------- (in / on) the kitchen.

9. Phone me --------------------- (on / at) lunch time.

10. My birthday is ----------------------- (on / in) March 21st.
