Once upon a time there lived a farmer and his wife. They had a big farm. There were a lot of hens, geese and doves in his farm. His favourite was a goose. It was no ordinary goose. It was a special goose that laid a golden egg every day.<\/p>\n

The farmer sold the golden egg for a lot of money. Soon he became very rich, but he was not happy. He had become greedy. He wanted to make more money at once.<\/p>\n

He told his wife, \u2018Our goose lays just one golden egg a day. Let\u2019s cut her open and get all the eggs at once. Then we will have a lot of money.\u2019<\/p>\n

His wife was a good woman. She told him not to kill the goose, but he wouldn\u2019t listen to her.<\/p>\n

He went inside the house and brought a big knife. He caught the goose from the farm and cut its body. There was not even a single golden egg in its stomach. The farmer repented his mistake.<\/p>\n
