(= The tea is unbearably hot. Here the adverb \u2018too\u2019 indicates an excess degree of heat).<\/li>\n<li>The room is <strong>spacious enough to accommodate<\/strong> ten people. (Here the adverb \u2018enough\u2019 indicates sufficiency. The room can easily accommodate ten people)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note that <strong>enough<\/strong> goes after the adjective it modifies whereas too goes before it.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>too cold to go<\/strong> out. (NOT It is cold too to&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>He is <strong>experienced enough to be a good<\/strong> sailor. (NOT He is enough experienced\u2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>She is <strong>bold enough to face<\/strong> the challenges.<\/li>\n<li>She was <strong>too determined to give<\/strong> up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Too and enough are usually followed by infinitive phrases (to + verb).<\/p>\n<p>Study the examples given below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mother was very angry. She didn\u2019t say anything.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here both clauses have the same subject. The noun mother and the pronoun she refer to the same person. We can combine these two sentences into\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">one.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mother was <strong>too angry to say<\/strong> anything.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">When the clauses have different subjects, we will use an expression with \u2018for\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The problem was difficult. I couldn\u2019t solve it.<\/li>\n<li>The problem was too difficult for me to solve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Combine the following sentences using too or enough.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. She is very old. She cannot have babies.<\/p>\n<p>2. It is very late. We cannot go out now.<\/p>\n<p>3. The problem was very difficult. I could not solve it.<\/p>\n<p>4. She is very clear. She cannot be deceived.<\/p>\n<p>5. The hall is spacious. It can seat 500 people.<\/p>\n<p>6. He is very proud. He will not apologize.<\/p>\n<p>7. He was very busy. He could not talk to me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Answers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. She is<strong> too old to have<\/strong> babies.<\/p>\n<p>2. It is <strong>too late for us to go<\/strong> out.<\/p>\n<p>3.
