A phrasal verb is a two word verb whose meaning is very different from the meanings of the two words in it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here is a list of phrasal verbs beginning with the verb call. Each one is followed by its meaning.<\/p>\n

Call for<\/strong><\/p>\n

When there is a call for something there is a demand or need for it.<\/p>\n

Call off<\/strong><\/p>\n

To call off an event is to cancel it.<\/p>\n

Call on<\/strong><\/p>\n

To call on somebody is to turn to them for help.<\/p>\n

Call someone up<\/strong><\/p>\n

To call someone up is to summon them to serve in the army or to play in a team.<\/p>\n

Call someone in<\/strong><\/p>\n

To call someone in is to invite them.<\/p>\n
