There are numerous idioms in English.<\/p>\n<p>While you are not supposed to learn all of them, you should be familiar with the most important ones.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of idioms expressions emotions, feelings and our reactions to various situations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be at sea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you are at sea, you are in a state of bewilderment because you cannot understand something.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lose heart<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you lose heart, you stop believing that you will be successful in what you are trying to do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lose one\u2019s temper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To lose your temper is to become very angry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lose face<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you lose face, you lose the respect of other people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep an eye<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To keep an eye for something is to look out for it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A finger in every pie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you have a finger in every pie, you are involved in too many things.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Up to the neck in something<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you are up to the neck in something, you are too busy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not have a leg to stand on<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you don\u2019t have a leg to stand on, you have no chance of proving that what you are saying is true.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Go over one\u2019s head<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When something goes over your head, it is too difficult for you to understand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Go to one\u2019s head<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When something like success goes to your head, it makes you very proud.<\/p>\n<p><strong>See eye to eye with someone<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you see eye to eye with someone, you agree with them on most things. And when you don\u2019t see eye to eye, you don\u2019t agree with them.<\/p>\n<h2>Exercise<\/h2>\n<p>Complete the following sentences using appropriate idiomatic expressions.<\/p>\n<p>1.
