The present continuous tense is used to talk about actions or events that are going on at the moment of speaking.<\/p>\n

The first part is an auxiliary verb (is, am or are). The second part is an \u2013ing\u00a0form.<\/span><\/p>\n When to use is<\/strong><\/p>\n Use \u2018is\u2019 when the subject is a singular noun. Examples: boy, girl, book, tree, country, pen, India, Rani etc.<\/p>\n Use \u2018is\u2019 when the subject is a singular pronoun. Examples: he, she, it<\/p>\n When to use are<\/strong><\/p>\n Use \u2018are\u2019 when the subject is a plural noun. Examples: boys, girls, books, trees, countries, pens, etc.<\/p>\n Use \u2018are\u2019 when the subject is a plural pronoun.
