The first part is an auxiliary verb (is, am or are). The second part is an \u2013ing\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">form.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>When to use is<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use \u2018is\u2019 when the subject is a singular noun. Examples: boy, girl, book, tree, country, pen, India, Rani etc.<\/p>\n<p>Use \u2018is\u2019 when the subject is a singular pronoun. Examples: he, she, it<\/p>\n<p><strong>When to use are<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use \u2018are\u2019 when the subject is a plural noun. Examples: boys, girls, books, trees, countries, pens, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Use \u2018are\u2019 when the subject is a plural pronoun.
