The donkey was carrying several bags of salt on his back. The merchant wanted to sell the salt in the market. The bags were heavy and the donkey struggled to walk. After a while, they reached the banks of a river. There was a bridge across the river.
While the merchant and the donkey were walking on the bridge, the donkey slipped and fell into the river. To his delight, the donkey discovered that the bags of salt loaded on his back had become lighter. The merchant somehow pulled the donkey out of the river and they proceeded to the market. The merchant did not have much salt to sell on that day and hence they went him early. The donkey was happy.

The next morning the merchant and the donkey again started their journey to the market. This time around, the merchant had loaded the donkey with sacs of wool. They were light but the lazy donkey wanted them to be lighter. Again they reached the bridge. The donkey wanted to fall into the river and when that didn’t happen, he jumped into it.

The stupid donkey didn’t know that the wool loaded on his back would absorb water and become heavy. The merchant again pulled the donkey out of water. Because of the weight of the wool, the donkey could barely stand, let alone walk. The merchant wanted to teach him a lesson and kept flogging him until they reached the market.

Write the opposite of

Hard working X

Heavier X

Pushed X

Write the past tense of

Want –

Struggle –

Reach –

Fall –

Discover –

Become –

Keep –

Fill in the blanks

1.
