Common among them are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simple future<\/li><li>Present continuous<\/li><li>Be going to<\/li><li>Present simple<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>These structures are not usually interchangeable, although in a few cases they are all possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/simple-future-tense\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"74373\">simple future<\/a> is used to announce decisions that we make at the moment of speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&#8216;I am hungry.&#8217; &#8216;I <strong>will give <\/strong>you something to eat.&#8217;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The simple future is also used in type 1 conditional sentences to talk about real and possible situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you do that again, I <strong>will hit<\/strong> you.<\/li><li>She will come if <strong>you call <\/strong>her.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/present-continuous-tense-form-and-uses\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"74196\">present continuous <\/a>is used to talk about future events if the arrangement already exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I <strong>am visiting<\/strong> my grandparents next week.<\/li><li>They <strong>are leaving<\/strong> by the evening flight.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/present-continuous-or-be-going-to\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"177\">Be going to<\/a> is used to talk about our future plans. It is also used to predict future based on present evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He <strong>is going<\/strong> to have an accident one of these days. (You can predict this in view of how carelessly he drives now,)<\/li><li>My sister <strong>is going<\/strong> to have a baby in March. (There is present evidence.)<\/li><li>I <strong>am going<\/strong> to file a complaint.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/simple-present-tense-form-and-uses\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"74385\">simple present<\/a> is used to talk about time tabled future events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The train <strong>leaves<\/strong> at 6.30. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Simple Future or Present Continuous Tense Worksheet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill in the blanks using a verb form that indicates future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 I \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..your dad tomorrow. (will see \/ see \/ am going to see)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7 I \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.. that car if you lower the price. (buy \/ will buy \/ am buying \/ am going to buy)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8 By next Christmas we \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026 here for thirty years. (Use the simple future to announce decisions that you make at the moment of speaking.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7 I <strong>will buy<\/strong> that car if you lower the price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8 By next Christmas we <strong>will have been<\/strong> here for thirty years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9 This time tomorrow, I <strong>will be playing<\/strong> with my kids. (Use the future continuous tense to talk about actions or situations that will be going on at a particular point of time in future.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10 The Prime Minister <strong>visits \/ is visiting<\/strong> Moscow in June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. (The simple future (will see) is also possible here; however, if the arrangement already exists we prefer the present continuous tense.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>16. Look at the sky. It <strong>is going to<\/strong> rain. (Be going to is used to predict future when there is external evidence.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>17. We have to do something before things <strong>get <\/strong>out of control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>18. I <strong>will not leave <\/strong>until I hear from her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>19. I will call you if I <strong>need<\/strong> help. (When both clauses refer to future, use a simple present in the subordinate clause.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20. You <strong>are not wearing \/ are not going to wear <\/strong>that dress to the party.
