Before you start learning this tense form, think about things you do every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;\">When <strong>do you get<\/strong> up in the morning?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>get up<\/strong> at 5 o&#8217; clock\u00a0in the morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When <strong>do you have<\/strong> breakfast?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>have<\/strong> breakfast at 8 am.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When<strong> do you go<\/strong> to office?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>go<\/strong> to office at 9 am.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">What <strong>do you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>fix<\/strong> cars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Where <strong>do you live?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>live<\/strong> in\u00a0Kerala.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When <strong>do you have<\/strong> lunch?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>have<\/strong> lunch at one o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When <strong>do you go<\/strong> to bed?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I <strong>go to bed \/ sleep<\/strong> at ten o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;\">Once you are comfortable talking about your own daily activities, you can start talking about other people\u2019s routines. There is an important point to consider. In the simple present tense, when the subject is a singular noun (e.g. Rahul, Maya, pen, tree, dog, boy etc) or a third person singular pronoun (he, she, it), the verb takes the marker <strong>\u2013s.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;\">Reveeena<strong> gets up<\/strong> at five o\u2019clock. (NOT Raveeena get up at five o\u2019clock.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Rani <strong>works<\/strong> at a bank. (NOT Rani work at a bank.)<\/li>\n<li>He <strong>earns<\/strong> a six figure salary. (NOT He earn a six figure salary.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The verb does not take the marker <strong>-s<\/strong> when the subject is a plural noun (e.g. books, pens, trees, dogs, boys etc.) or pronoun (they, we, you).<\/p>\n<p>The first person pronoun \u2018I\u2019 also doesn\u2019t take<strong> the marker \u2013s.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I <strong>run<\/strong> a store. (NOT I runs a website.)<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>sing<\/strong> well. (NOT You sings well.)<\/li>\n<li>They <strong>work<\/strong> at an insurance company.
