The subject<\/strong> is the person or thing that performs the action mentioned in the sentence. The subject is usually a noun or a pronoun.\u00a0As you know, nouns are the names of people, places, animals and things.
Pronouns are words like he, she, it, I, you, they and we.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In English sentences, the subject usually goes before the verb. However, there are some exceptions to this rule and the subject can sometimes go after the verb.<\/p>\n

Underline the subject in the following sentences.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Neil Armstrong was the first man to set his foot on the moon.<\/p>\n

2. The sun rises in the east.<\/p>\n
