It can be an affirmative statement or a negative statement. A declarative sentence tells us something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I want to be a doctor.<\/li><li>She is not interested in politics.<\/li><li>He was here ten minutes ago.<\/li><li>She could not pass the test.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A declarative sentence always ends with a full stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interrogative sentence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An interrogative sentence asks a question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Will you help me?<\/li><li>Where are you going?<\/li><li>Who put the cat in?<\/li><li>Why did you shout at me?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An interrogative sentence always ends with a question mark (?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exclamatory sentences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Exclamatory sentences show strong feelings, emotions or excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bravo! We have won!<\/li><li>Alas! She is gone!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Exclamatory sentences always end with an exclamation mark (!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Imperative sentence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We use <strong>imperative sentences<\/strong> to give orders or commands or to make requests. Imperative sentences do not normally have an expressed subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Come here. (Here the subject \u2018you\u2019 is understood but not mentioned.)<\/li><li>Put it there.<\/li><li>Get out.<\/li><li>Please keep quiet.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Imperative sentences usually end with a full stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exercise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the following sentences and identify their kind.<br>1.
