Yes, they were once considered correct, but now the rules have changed.<\/p>\n<p>In educated use, <strong>object pronouns<\/strong> are now used after <strong>as<\/strong> and <strong>than.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note that <strong>subject pronouns<\/strong> are still used if the pronoun is followed by a verb.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I earn as much <strong>as he does<\/strong>. OR I earn as much<strong> as him<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>She is taller <strong>than he is<\/strong>. OR She is taller <strong>than him.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Object pronouns after prepositions<\/h3>\n<p>Consider the two sentences given below.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Nobody loves you <strong>except me.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Nobody loves you <strong>except I.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Which of these two sentences are correct?<\/p>\n<p>Here the second sentence can be completed to read \u2018Nobody loves you <strong>except I do.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, when the verb is not mentioned, you should use the object pronoun.<\/p>\n<p>The noun or a pronoun that follows the preposition is its object, and objects have to be in object form.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There are no secrets <strong>between him and me<\/strong>. (NOT There are no secrets between he and I.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here the pronouns him and me are the objects of the preposition \u2018between\u2019.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She sat <strong>beside him<\/strong>.
