English has just five of them and they are: <strong>this, that, these, those and such.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the prize I got.<br \/>\nThat is her house.<br \/>\nThese are the girls who won the prizes.<br \/>\nThose are the pictures to be framed.<br \/>\nI may have offended you, but such was not my intention.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the words <strong>this, that, these, those and such<\/strong> can also be used as demonstrative adjectives. Demonstrative adjectives are followed by the nouns or pronouns they qualify.<\/p>\n<p>This tree is taller than that tree.<br \/>\nThose houses look imposing.<br \/>\nNobody likes such people.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrative pronouns only stand for certain nouns, and they are not immediately followed by the nouns.<\/p>\n<p>This is my daughter.<br \/>\nThese are the only apples left.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Demonstrative Pronouns Demonstrative pronouns are used to point out the persons or things for which they stand.
