One such book is called \u201cDeep Work\u201d by Cal Newport, an Assistant professor of computer science at Georgetown University.<\/p>\n

Teachers and parents have to find ways that can help their children to learn effortlessly. It would be ideal for them to know the Idea of Deep Work Can Help Our Children. So what is deep work?<\/p>\n

Deep Work and Shallow Work<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the world advances, only three types of people will survive. The first ones are those who own capital or can access it. The second ones are those people that operate intelligent machines and technology and the third ones are those who are excellent and superstars in their field of work.<\/p>\n

Deep work focuses on the third type. For children to master this, they need to focus on two kinds of skills. One is the ability to learn hard things and two, the ability to produce at elite level terms of speed and quality. The concept of deep work interlinks these two skills.<\/p>\n

But why is it a challenge for children? Cal says that deep work is tough. And shallow work is more comfortable.<\/p>\n

Here what he says,<\/p>\n

”In the absence of clear goals for your job, the visible busyness that surrounds shallow work becomes self-preserving.” The goal is to methodically develop your personal ability to go deep and by doing so, reap great rewards.<\/p>\n

Cal Newport describes Deep Work as any professional activity done in a distraction-free state of the environment that pushes cognitive ability to the limit. Such efforts are hard to replicate as they improve a child\u2019s skill and value.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, shallow work is those performed while distracted and are quickly done and replicated as they don\u2019t add much value to the world. These are the usual everyday rituals like attending classes and doing the assignment.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to help children focus on their studies and work because working hard work equals to achieving more.<\/p>\n

Teaching students on how to focus with minimal distractions will go a long way in helping children get used to the efforts they need to push themselves. With time, it becomes a new culture, a habit that solidifies and becomes part of them.<\/p>\n

Increased Confidence<\/strong><\/p>\n

Additionally, there’ll be increased confidence and a feeling of worthiness from the achievements made. Increased confidence will help them become more successful.<\/p>\n

Frees Up Their Time<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deep work enables children to free up their time. Imagine a child doing his assignment, and at the same time watching the televisions, singing along to the lyrics of one of his favorite songs.<\/p>\n

They then think of whether they can switch over to another song to another channel. This stops them from committing fully to their work hence slowing them down. It\u2019ll slow their thinking, leading to sluggish work and eventually taking longer to finish their assignment.<\/p>\n
