Possessives are normally made by adding &#8211;<strong>&#8216;s<\/strong> to the noun.<\/p>\n<p>Examples are: <strong>my mother&#8217;s friends, my father&#8217;s house, children&#8217;s books and the students\u2019 work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The possessive can also be expressed with <strong>of<\/strong>, especially when the possessor is not alive.<\/p>\n<p>Examples are: the leg of a table (BUT NOT table&#8217;s leg), the cover of a book (BUT NOT book\u2019s cover)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Possessive determiner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A determiner which expresses possession.
