It can mean \u2018stop sleeping\u2019 or \u2018make somebody else stop sleeping\u2019. Wake is often followed by up.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t <strong>wake<\/strong> him up.<\/li>\n<li>I woke up several times in the night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Waken<\/strong> can be used instead of wake up in a literary style.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The prince wakened the princess with a kiss.
