Examples are: <em>child, man, girl, book, computer, India, mother, dog, birds, language, river, rice, kindness, beauty etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are different types of nouns.<\/p>\n<h3>Proper nouns<\/h3>\n<p>A proper noun is the name of a particular person or thing. Note that proper nouns always begin with capital letters. Examples are: <em>Maya, Rahul, Hindi, India, Kerala, Rahim, James, Mumbai, Tuesday, Sahara, Africa etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Common noun<\/h3>\n<p>A common noun does not denote any particular person or thing. It refers to a class of people or objects. Examples are: <em>books, students, people, animals, dog, river, country, language, nation, apple etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Note that Ram is a proper noun but boy is a common noun. Likewise, India is a proper noun but country is a common noun.<\/p>\n<h3>Collective noun<\/h3>\n<p>A collective noun refers to a collection of people or things. Examples are:<em> army, bunch, fleet, audience, flight, herd, pride, troop, battalion, committee, council etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Nouns worksheet for class 4<\/h2>\n<p>Underline the nouns in the following sentences and state their type \u2013 proper, common or collective.<\/p>\n<p>1.
