They describe <a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/what-are-nouns\/\">nouns<\/a>. Adjectives usually go before the nouns modified by them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She is a <strong>pretty<\/strong> girl. (Here the adjective pretty goes before the noun girl.)<\/li>\n<li>It is a <strong>clever<\/strong> idea. (Here the adjective clever goes before the noun idea.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Adjectives can also go after <strong>be<\/strong> (is, am, are, was, were) and other <a href=\"https:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/copular-verbs\/\">copular verbs<\/a> (seem, look, appear, feel, get, become etc.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She is <strong>beautiful<\/strong>. (Here the adjective beautiful goes after be (is)).<\/li>\n<li>It looks<strong> difficult<\/strong>.
