In this case, they are used attributively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He was a <strong>brave<\/strong> soldier. (Here the adjective brave goes before the noun soldier.)<\/li><li>It was a <strong>terrible<\/strong> experience. (Here the adjective terrible goes before the noun experience.)<\/li><li>That <strong>young <\/strong>woman is a scientist. (Here the adjective young goes before the noun woman.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjectives can also go after <strong>be<\/strong> and other copular verbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>She looks <strong>beautiful<\/strong>. (Here the adjective beautiful goes after the copular verb looks.)<\/li><li>I was <strong>happy<\/strong>. (Here the adjective happy goes after the verb be (was))<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes we use several different adjectives to modify a noun. In this case, they have to be put in a specific order. It is not possible to give the exact rules; however, here are some guidelines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjectives of colour usually go before adjectives indicating origin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Red Persian carpets<\/li><li>Black American month<\/li><li>White marble statue<\/li><li>Brown leather travel bag<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjectives indicating size, length and height usually go before every other adjective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A tall dark woman<\/li><li>A small red plastic bottle<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Numbers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Numbers\u00a0usually go before other adjectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We need ten large tables.<\/li><li>Five young girls were selected for the program. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When several adjectives go before nouns, we usually separate them with commas especially if the sequence is long.
