They have singular and plural forms. Example are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>boy &#8211; boys<\/li><li>child &#8211; children<\/li><li>book &#8211; books<\/li><li>mother &#8211; mothers<\/li><li>school &#8211; schools<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An <strong>uncountable noun<\/strong> is the name of a material, liquid or abstract quality that cannot be counted. An uncountable noun has only one form and it is usually considered singular. Examples are: water, air, rice, milk, wheat, beauty, music, luck, money etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most uncountable nouns take singular verbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Money is<\/strong> essential to buy things.<\/li><li><strong>Music brings<\/strong> people together.<\/li><li><strong>Water is<\/strong> essential for life.<\/li><li><strong>Air occupies <\/strong>space. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We cannot use numbers or the articles<strong> a\/an<\/strong> with uncountable nouns. For example, we cannot say<em> two wheats <\/em>or<em> a music<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singular countable nouns, on the other hand, always take an article with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Rani is <strong>an interior designer<\/strong>. (NOT Rani is interior designer.)<\/li><li>I ate <strong>a mango<\/strong>. (NOT I ate mango.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We can use the determiners <strong>some <\/strong>and <strong>any<\/strong> with plural countable nouns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I have bought <strong>some mangoes<\/strong>.<\/li><li>She doesn&#8217;t have <strong>any children<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Did you buy <strong>any apples?<\/strong><\/li><li>Have we got <strong>any eggs?<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some<\/strong> and <strong>any<\/strong> can also be used with uncountable nouns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I need <strong>some advice<\/strong>.<\/li><li>We haven&#8217;t got <strong>any money.<\/strong><\/li><li>I drank <strong>some juice<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Do we have <strong>any milk<\/strong> left?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Worksheet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill in the blanks with the singular or plural form of the noun given in the brackets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Each hand has five &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.
