They are also called distributive adjectives. They are followed by singular nouns and singular verbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Every guest has<\/strong> arrived. (NOT Every guests have arrived.)<\/li><li>The hostess received <strong>each guest<\/strong> with pleasure.<\/li><li><strong>Each question<\/strong> carries one mark. (NOT Each questions carry one mark.)<\/li><li><strong>Either option suits<\/strong> me fine.<\/li><li><strong>Neither plan<\/strong> worked.<\/li><li>There are trees on <strong>either side<\/strong> of the road. <\/li><li>Each student was asked the same question. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Before a pronoun or a noun with a determiner, we use <strong>each of, either of<\/strong> or <strong>neither of<\/strong>. Note that we cannot put <strong>of <\/strong>after <strong>every<\/strong>. Instead, we write everyone of. Use a plural noun\/pronoun and a singular verb after each of, either of etc..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Either of us<\/strong> has to go. <\/li><li><strong>Neither of <\/strong>them was capable of solving the problem.
