Like&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/what-are-prepositions\/\">prepositions<\/a>, there are only a limited number of conjunctions in English. Common examples are:&nbsp;<i><a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/the-conjunctions-and-or-but\/\">and,&nbsp;but, or<\/a>, yet, for, so,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/as-since-because-so\/\">because,&nbsp;since,&nbsp;as, when, while<\/a>, after,&nbsp;before, that,&nbsp;whether,&nbsp;if<\/i>&nbsp;etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>My brother <strong>and<\/strong> I enjoy playing badminton.<\/li><li>She is very beautiful <strong>but<\/strong> no one likes her.<\/li><li>He was ill, <strong>yet<\/strong> he went to work.<\/li><li>Ice will melt <strong>if<\/strong> you heat it.<\/li><li>I went home&nbsp;<b>because<\/b> I was bored.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is yet another category of connectors. Examples are:&nbsp;<b>who, whom, which, that, where<\/b>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<b>whose<\/b>. These are not exactly conjunctions.
