This happens especially in four cases:<\/p>\n<p>wh-questions: What are you looking at?<br \/>\nrelative clauses: This is the book that I told you about.<br \/>\npassives: I hate being shouted at.<br \/>\ninfinitive structures: It is a boring place to live in.<\/p>\n<h3>Wh-questions<\/h3>\n<p>When a question word is the object of a preposition, the preposition most often comes at the end of the clause.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Who<\/b>\u00a0is this present\u00a0<b>for?\u00a0<\/b>(For whom is this present? is extremely formal.)<\/li>\n<li><b>What<\/b>\u00a0are you looking\u00a0<b>at?\u00a0<\/b>(Less formal than At what are you looking?)<\/li>\n<li><b>Who\u00a0<\/b>did you go\u00a0<b>with?\u00a0<\/b>(Less formal than With whom did you go?)<\/li>\n<li><b>Where\u00a0<\/b>did you buy it<b>\u00a0from?<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Relative clauses<\/h3>\n<p>When a <a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/conjunctions-and-relative-pronouns\/\">relative pronoun<\/a> is the object of a preposition, the preposition often goes at the end of a clause.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is the store\u00a0<b>that<\/b>\u00a0I told you\u00a0<b>about.\u00a0<\/b>(Less formal than \u2026 about which I told you.)<\/li>\n<li>She is the only woman\u00a0<b>(who)\u00a0<\/b>I have ever really been in love\u00a0<b>with<\/b>.
