In fact, infinitives can be used with or without the marker\u00a0<b>to<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the ordinary infinitive, there are also\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/perfect-infinitive-passive-infinitive-progressive-infinitive-different-forms-of-infinitives\/\"><b>progressive, perfect<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>passive infinitives<\/b><\/a>. In this lesson, we will learn about\u00a0<b>progressive infinitives<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2>Progressive infinitive: (to) be \u2026ing.<\/h2>\n<p>Like other progressive forms, the\u00a0<b>progressive infinitive<\/b>\u00a0is used to talk about actions or situations that are \/ were \/ will be continuing at around the time we are talking about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is nice\u00a0<b>to be sitting<\/b>\u00a0here in the garden listening to some soft music.<\/li>\n<li>I noticed that they seemed\u00a0<b>to be quarreling\u00a0<\/b>a lot.<\/li>\n<li>She seemed\u00a0<b>to be worrying<\/b>\u00a0a lot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0<b>progressive infinitive<\/b>\u00a0is used to form the future continuous test.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This time tomorrow, I\u00a0<b>will be flying<\/b>\u00a0to Athens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note that in this case, <a href=\"http:\/\/perfectyourenglish.com\/blog\/infinitives-without-to\/\">the infinitive is used without<b>\u00a0to<\/b>.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I\u00a0<b>will be giving<\/b>\u00a0a presentation at 10 o\u2019clock tomorrow morning.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t call them now.
