British people use\u00a0I shall\/I will<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0we shall\/ we will\u00a0<\/b>with no difference of meaning in most situations. However,\u00a0shall<\/b>\u00a0is becoming much less common than\u00a0will<\/b>.\u00a0Shall<\/b><\/a>\u00a0is not normally used in American English<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To give information about the future<\/h4>\n

We use\u00a0the simple future tense\u00a0<\/b>to give or ask for information about the future.<\/p>\n

  • She\u00a0will be\u00a0<\/b>here in a couple of minutes.<\/li>\n
  • I\u00a0will go\u00a0<\/b>to London tomorrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We often use\u00a0the simple future tense\u00a0<\/b>in predictions of future events – to say what we think, guess or calculate will happen.<\/p>\n

    • It\u00a0will rain\u00a0<\/b>tonight.<\/li>\n

      Conditional use<\/h3>\n

      The simple future tense\u00a0<\/b>is often used to express conditional ideas, when we say what will happen if something else happens.<\/p>\n
