For example, in order to transform an affirmative sentence into a negative sentence, we only have to put <strong>not <\/strong>after the auxiliary verb. Study examples given below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>She is an archeologist. (Affirmative)<\/li><li>She is <strong>not <\/strong>an archeologist. (Negative)<\/li><li>He has agreed to come. (Affirmative)<\/li><li>He has <strong>not<\/strong> agreed to come. (Negative)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the affirmative sentence is in the <strong>simple present<\/strong> or <strong>simple past tense<\/strong>, we have to use <strong>do not, does not <\/strong>or <strong>did not<\/strong> to make negatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He left in a hurry. (Affirmative)<\/li><li>He <strong>did not leave<\/strong> in a hurry. (Negative)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We can transform an affirmative sentence into a negative sentence by putting the auxiliary verb before the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They <strong>are leaving <\/strong>in the afternoon. (Affirmative)<\/li><li><strong>Are <\/strong>they <strong>leaving <\/strong>in the afternoon? (Interrogative)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the affirmative sentence is in the simple present or simple past tense, we use <strong>do, does<\/strong> or <strong>did<\/strong> to make questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You recognised him. (Affirmative)<\/li><li><strong>Did<\/strong> you <strong>recognise<\/strong> him?
