Simple present tense worksheet
Make sentences in the simple present tense by using appropriate forms of the verb given in brackets.

2. My mother ------------------ (get) up at 5 am.
3. The earth ------------------ (move) around the sun.
4. I ------------------- (play) cricket every evening.
5. His train ------------------ (arrive) at 9 pm.
6. Heat --------------------- (expand) bodies.
7. Water -------------------- (boil) at 100 degree Celsius.
8. He ------------------- (live) in North America.
9. My head ------------------- (ache).
10. I ---------------- (go) for a walk every evening.

1. James works in a super market.
2. My mother gets up at 5 am.
3. The earth moves around the sun.
4. I play cricket every evening.
5. His train arrives at 9 pm.
6. Heat expands bodies.
7. Water boils at 100 degree Celsius.
8. He lives in North America.
9. My head aches.
10. I go for a walk every evening.
Notes
When the subject is a third personal singular noun or pronoun, the verb takes the marking –s in the simple present tense. When the verb is plural, there is no –s ending.
I sing.
He sings.
She sings.
They sing.
We sing.
The girl sings.
