Relative clauses worksheet for class 8
The antecedent of a relative pronoun is the noun or pronoun modified by it.
Study the example given below.
- The boy who was lazy was punished by the teacher.
Here the relative pronoun ‘who’ refers to the noun ‘boy’ and hence ‘boy’ is the antecedent of ‘who’. The verb in the relative clause must agree with the antecedent in number and person. You can learn more about relative clauses here.
