Abhor (verb)

To abhor something is to hate it very much; to detest

Hatred is milder than abhorrence, so use this word to refer to something that you really, really, really hate. To abhor something is to view it with horror.

  • Investors abhor political uncertainty.
  • She abhorred his conventional views on love and marriage.
