Adverb clause of reason worksheet

Read the following sentence.

I cancelled the trip because I was short of cash.

Here the clause ‘because I was short of cash’ explains why I cancelled the trip.

An adverb clause of reason answers the question ‘why’. It is introduced by conjunctions like because, as, since and now that.

Since he has apologized we will not take any further actions against him.

I helped him because I liked him.

I encouraged him because he is industrious.

Now that he has got a good job, he can live on his own.
