Adverbs Worksheet For Class 6

Adverbs are words used to modify verbs. Examples are: cleverly, slowly, kindly, soon, eagerly, tomorrow, outside, here, there etc.

  • She sings well. (Here the adverb well modifies the verb sings.)
  • I work hard. (Here the adverb hard modifies the verb work.)

Adverbs can also modify adjectives and other adverbs.

  • She is quite beautiful. (Here the adverb quite modifies the adjective beautiful.)
  • He was driving too fast. (Here the adverb too modifies the adverb fast.)

Most words ending in -ly are adverbs. Words indicating time and place are also adverbs.
