Notes
The present perfect is used to talk about a finished action or situation that is in some way related to the present. It is commonly used with the time expressions already, yet, ever and never.
The present perfect continuous is used to talk about an action or situation that started in the past and has continued up to the present and is still continuing. This tense form is commonly used with the time expressions since and for. Note that the present perfect is also possible with this meaning. Use the present perfect when the emphasis is on the idea of completion. Use the present perfect continuous to focus on the idea of continuity.
