The Regional Rural Banks

The Regional Rural Banks (RRB) are commercial banks operating in rural areas to facilitate basic banking services in those areas. There are eighty-two RRBs operating in Indian rural areas under the regulation of RBI. IBPS conducts online exams for IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale I and II) and IBPS RRB Office Assistant (clerk). These financial institutions were established to provide an adequate credit line for agriculture in rural areas. The equity of RRB is constituted by the Central Government, related State Government, and Sponsor Bank at a ratio of 50:15:35 subsequently. The jurisdiction of each RRB is notified by the Government.
