A conjunction is a word used to connect two or more words, phrases or clauses together. There are several conjunctions in English.

The conjunction ‘and’ is used to add one statement to another. The conjunction ‘but’ is used to connect two contrasting ideas whereas the conjunction ‘or’ presents a choice.
