Pronouns After As And Than | Grammar Worksheet

Personal pronouns have subject and object forms. Subject forms are used when the pronoun is the subject of the verb. Similarly object forms are used when the pronoun is the object of the verb.

Subject forms – I, we, she, he, you, they, it

Object forms – me, us, her, him, you, their, it

After as and than, object forms are now preferred. Earlier, teachers used to insist that these words should be followed by subject pronouns. It is no longer considered necessary or appropriate and people are more likely to use object pronouns after as and than. The subject forms are also possible. In this case, they are followed by a verb.

Compare:

  • She is older than me.
