Here is a band 9 letter on this topic.
Dear Sir or Madam
I am a resident of Garden Retreat, the residential complex adjacent to your restaurant. I am writing this letter to express my concern regarding your new dining arrangement on the pavement. I must tell you that this is totally unacceptable. First, the pavement is not meant to be used in this manner. By placing tables and chairs on the pavement, you hinder the free movement of pedestrians.
This arrangement is causing a lot of problems for my family and me as well. A lot of noise is coming from customers who eat outside the restaurant. Since your restaurant is open until 12 o’clock, this constant noise prevents us from falling asleep. I have aged parents and school going children. They are not able to sleep well. What’s more, you do not have adequate parking space for all the customers who eat inside and outside the restaurant. It is common for your customers to park their vehicles in front of our gates. This causes a lot of inconvenience to us.
Your earlier arrangement of serving your customers only inside your restaurant did not create any problems for us. Hence, I request you to stop serving customers on the pavement. If you continue this practice, I am afraid I will have to contact the City Council.
I look forward to seeing this issue resolved.
Yours sincerely
Simranpreet Kaur
