Another

Another can mean one more of the same kind. It is used with singular countable nouns.

  • We need another person to finish the work. (= We need one more person to finish the work.)
  • He has bought another car.
  • Could I have another cup of coffee?

With uncountable and plural nouns, we normally use morenot another .

  • Would you like some more milk? (NOT —another milk)

However, another can be used before a plural noun in expressions with few or a number.

  • We will wait for another few days.

Another can also mean ‘one that is different’.

  • I think we should paint it another colour
