Childhood obesity has reach epidemic proportions throughout the world. But chubby is no longer cute. Obesity is associating with a lot of ailments. Here is how to avoid gaining those extra kilos.
Never skipped breakfast. Lots of research has proved that children who eat breakfast have lower Body Mass Index than those who didn’t eat breakfast. Breakfast-eaters also do good in their studies. Your diet should consist of a healthy combination of quality carbohydrates and proteins. Limit the intake of beverages that contains sugar. Instead drink plenty of water. Avoid fruit juices – they contain sugar. Eat fresh fruits instead. They have low in calories and since they are rich in fibers they will also make you feel full. Have skimming milk. It will give you the amount of calcium you need. Unlike whole-milk dairy products, skimmed milk was low in fats and calories. Limit snacks. Sweet and salty snacks are a favourite with any child. Eat them occasionally, may be twice or thrice in a week. Don’t avoid them completely, as it is going to make you feel deprived. Stay active for at least an hour day.
