Comparison Of Adverbs
Just like adjectives, adverbs also recognise three degrees of comparison. Adverbs of one or two syllables form their comparative and superlative forms by adding -er and -est to the positive.
- fast, faster, fastest
- late, later, latest
Manner adverbs which end in -ly form their comparative and superlative with more and most.
- Carefully, more carefully, most carefully
- Intelligently, more intelligently, most intelligently
- Kindly, more kindly, most kindly
