A great part of Arabia is dessert.

Here their is nothing but sand and rock.

The sand is too hot that you cannot walk

through it with your bare feet in the day time.

There are springs off water here and there.

Though they come from deep down the ground

the sun cannot dry them up. These springs are little

and far apart, but wherever there is one trees grew

tall and graceful creating a cool, green and shadow

place. Such a place is called an oasis. The Arabs which

are not in the cities lives in the desert all the year round.

They live in tents that can be put off and taken down

very easily and quick so that they can move from

one oasis to other, seeking grass and water for their

sheeps, goats, camels and horses. These desert Arabs eat

sweet figs and dates that grow in palm trees.
