2. He can’t walk because his leg is broken. (Use because before a clause.)

3. Because of his broken leg, he could not play for his team. (Because of means the same as due to or owing to.)

4. I donate to animal welfare charities because I support their work.

5. She lives all alone although she knows that it is not safe.

6. I am taking the dog to the vet whether my mother approves it or not.

7. She could not pass the test although she had prepared well.

8. I could not understand her because of her strange accent.

9. We went for a swim although it was cold.

10. She is struggling to make ends meet despite working hard.
