Transformation Of An Affirmative Sentence To A Negative Sentence

In the simple present tense, use do or does to make negatives. Use do when the subject is a plural noun or pronoun (they, you, we).

Use does when the subject is a singular noun or pronoun (he, she, it).

Use do when the subject is the first person singular pronoun I.

In the simple past tense, use did with both singular and plural subjects.

Note that you have to use the first form of the verb (v1) after do, does and did.

She arrived in the morning. (Affirmative)

She did not arrive in the morning. (Negative) (NOT She did not arrived in the morning.)
