Dear Sir or Madam
I am writing to express my concern regarding the nuisance caused by stray dogs in our colony. There are plenty of them and they have become a threat to people in our locality. They chase vehicles and stalk any strangers entering our area. Yesterday, four of them chased a motorcyclist. He was a courier guy who had come to deliver a parcel. When the dogs ran after his bike at full stop, he got scared and fell off. He is in hospital now. Not only strangers, colony members are also targeted by the dogs. Children are now afraid of venturing out alone into the streets. This street dog menace has caused a lot of concern for all of us and hence we all want the municipality to address the problem immediately.
Part of the issue can be solved my simply making sure that garbage bins on the roadsides are emptied daily. Right now, the garbage collectors come only thrice a week. Consequently, the bins are overflowing and the dogs raid them for food. If food is not available so easily, they will have to move to other areas. We also want the municipality to launch a campaign to sterilize street dogs. This way we can make sure that they do not multiply.
Please consider this issue as serious and find a solution at the earliest.
