Conjunctions worksheet for CBSE class 7

A conjunction is a word used to connect two or more words, phrases or clauses together.

When a conjunction is used to connect words or phrases, make sure that they are in the same form. That means you cannot connect a noun and a verb or adjective. A noun should be connected to another noun. Likewise, an adjective should be connected to another adjective and a verb should be connected to another verb.

Study the examples given below.

  • I want to read, travel and eat.

Here the conjunction ‘and’ connects the verbs read, travel and eat.

  • She bought a camera, a laptop and a printer. (Here the conjunction ‘and’ connects three nouns – laptop, camera and printer.)
  • She cooked, mopped and cleaned.
  • OR She did cooking, mopping and cleaning. (NOT She cooked, mopped and cleaning.) (NOT She did cooking, mopping and cleaned.)
