Passive Voice Worksheet For Class 10

A sentence has been given in active / passive voice. Out of the four suggested alternatives, select the one which best expresses the same idea in passive / active voice.

Question 1

Our task had been completed before sunset.

Notes

It is not always necessary to mention the agent – the person or thing that does the action – in passive voice.

Notes

When the verb has two objects, as in this sentence, two passive structures are possible.

The indirect object (usually a person) can become the subject of the passive verb.

The policeman has already been given his number.

The direct object (usually a thing) can become the subject of the passive verb.

His number has already been given to the policeman.
