Using ‘where’ instead of ‘in which’

Study the following sentence.

  • He led me to another room in which I could rest.

Instead of ‘in which’, we can use ‘where’ in that sentence.

  • He led me to another room where I could rest.

Rewrite the following sentences using where.

1. This is the house in which Betty lives.

2. Is this the park in which you play?

3. Where is the garage in which you keep your car?

4. Is this the room in which you sleep?

Answers

1. This is the house where Betty lives.

2. Is this the park where you play?

3. Where is the garage where you keep your car?

4. Is this the room where you sleep?
